My name is Aly Vanko and I live to work as a barber in Mammoth Lakes, CA, a ski resort town full of scruffy faces. I created Dirty Sauce beard oil because I just couldn't find the right product for all the different beards that would come into my shop on a regular basis. I wanted something that could function both as a pre-shave and as an everyday beard oil that was also suitable for sensitive skin. I tried many off-the-shelf products but nothing checked all these boxes for me, so I decided to start tinkering with my own solution. 

My barbershop became my laboratory and my clients became my test subjects.

After months of trial and error (and hundreds of beards), I was finally convinced that I had the right blend of essential oils to turn all my scruffy little lab rats into sensible gentlemen. I began to routinely use Dirty Sauce in my shop and offer clients 1oz bottles for them to take home.

What happened next was something I never expected: Men who had never used skin products became daily users! Word quickly spread and it wasn't long before the whole town was using Dirty Sauce.

My original formula is now available for purchase online in three scents: Rosemary, Lavender and Cedar.
